Tenaris unveils AlphaRod® 2.0 for artificial lift at SWPSC Conference

Tenaris will present its latest product innovation for artificial lift operations at the annual conference of the Southwestern Petroleum Short Course Association (SWPSC) at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center in Texas, on April 15-18. The SWPS Is a non-profit educational organization that integrates talent from Texas Tech University engineering faculty and oil production experts worldwide.

At booth # 119, Tenaris technical and commercial representatives from the sucker rods team will showcase the company’s latest solution for unconventional wells in the U.S.: the AlphaRod® 2.0. Launched as the evolution of the original flagship series, it represents a significant technological advancement for enhancing oil and gas extraction processes, specially designed for the Permian and Williston basins. With advanced surface treatment and outstanding metallurgical characteristics, AlphaRod® 2.0 aims to set a new standard in the artificial lift market.

“AlphaRod® 2.0 offers a seamless blend of quality, reliability, and performance. The development of this technology is strongly driven not only by our commitment to innovation, but also by the interaction with our customers and their experience in the field. Featuring Tenaris’s cutting-edge technology and engineering, AlphaRod® 2.0 aims to become the leading choice for oil and gas operators seeking to optimize their extraction processes,” said Martín Mayora, vice president for the sucker rods division.

The sucker rods team will also highlight TenFlowTM XF, which offers the best balance of hydrodynamics and polymer technology for wellbore equipment; LaserShield®, the latest innovation in protective coating technology offering enhanced fatigue resistance, along with its sinker rods that protect tubing and rods from wear.

Following a $5 million USD investment, a new manufacturing line was installed in August 2023 to start producing AlphaRod® 2.0 at the industrial center in Veracruz, Mexico. This expansion increased the manufacturing capacity of premium rods, previously exclusively produced in Argentina.
