The rotations in the program give you the opportunity to experience different areas. For example, I worked at the quality mill and now I am in the steel purchase section. On the way, I worked with coworkers from various areas and thus created a healthy network. The carefully considered structure puts you in a superb situation once the two years conclude.
The Mill Training experience was great. It was important to be in contact with the product itself and see the high number of variables that can influence the production process. The program put me in contact with managers and directors who taught us the Tenaris philosophy.

This comprehensive program taught me not only about the management production processes, but also about developing networks with people from all over the world. Switching departments gave me a global vision of the company and because of this I was able to discover my strengths. By understanding how your work impacts the rest of the company, correct decisions can more easily be made.
The Mill Training was another experience which helped me develop inside Tenaris. I saw the importance of decision-making by observing how it impacts production. In the Training you dive into the production process and are in constant contact with the product. During the development of my projects I learned and was able put the Tenaris procedures and philosophy into practice, which continues to be helpful today.

I was interested in Tenaris because it is large, dynamic and offers the Global Trainee Program. This third element has given me the opportunity to leave Italy and learn about an important company together with enthusiastic people from all over the world. This program has allowed me to familiarize myself with different kinds of jobs, meet countless people and understand how to work in varying situations and conditions. Being a part of so many areas, I got to thoroughly see the problems that the various departments face and then learn about their solutions.
I did the Mill Training in Siderca and I feel it was an important experience because it allowed me to discover the whole production process. Stepping into the production, maintenance and quality worlds gave me a much better idea of how Tenaris functions. It also helped me understand how I can successfully complete my tasks inside of the company. Today, I am much better prepared to work and grow in my career.

In Singapore, I had never heard of an organization that trains their employees for one month like Tenaris does with the TenarisUniversity Induction Camp—affectionately nicknamed the “TUIC” by its participants.
Sometimes people work in a certain department and are unaware of their colleagues’ work next door. The Global Trainee Program streamlines the corporate culture with its comprehensive rotations. It was through this system that I learned about the heart of Tenaris and was able to appreciate its unwavering flow of everyday operations; I learned, for example, about the process engineering and commercial area relation. In addition, the Mill Experience completely enhanced my knowledge since I got to work with mill employees and witness the manufacturing of tubes. The networking with mill workers, Global Trainees, supervisors, managers and directors—among others—gave me a clear idea of how we can coordinate our work together in the future. |
