Increased load resistance
Axles, suspension arms and trailer axles are integral structural components of wheeled vehicles. Their function is to maintain the position of the wheels relative to each other and to the vehicle body. Tubular axles must have excellent mechanical properties and restricted dimensional tolerances in order to bear the weight of the vehicle plus any additional load, as well as bear acceleration and braking forces in any driving condition.
Tenaris manufactures and commercializes a wide variety of long, cut-to-length hot-rolled and hot-rolled quenched and tempered carbon-manganese steel tubes for suspension arms as well as trailer axle beams (tubes with friction welded spindles). The friction welding process means tubes and spindles of different materials and mechanical properties can be joined together.
