We provide tubes and components in carbon, micro-alloyed and special alloy steels.

Serving the earth-moving machinery sector worlDwide

Tenaris produces a wide range of hot-rolled and cold-drawn tubes and components in carbon, carbon micro-alloyed and special alloy steels used as hydraulic cylinder bodies, piston rods, telescopic cylinders and cylinder accumulators by the leading earth-moving machinery manufacturers worldwide, as well as by producers of lifts, tracks, tractors, dock cranes and hydraulic actuators.

We supply special steel grades for high-performance hydraulic cylinders according to each customer's needs.

Safety Standards

Our tubes for hydraulic cylinders are characterized by tight dimensional tolerances, controlled surface quality, high steel cleanliness and guaranteed eccentricity. They are manufactured in accordance with the most important international standards and norms: EN 10305-1, BS 5242-1, ISO 4394-1, DIN 2391-2, NF–A 49310 for cold-drawn tubes and EN 10297-1, ASTM A 519 for hot-rolled.

Tubes

We produce a wide range of cold-drawn and hot-rolled seamless tubes in re-sulfurized and not re-sulfurized  steels which are used for hydraulic cylinder applications.

tubes for Low Pressure and Low Toughness

For standard working conditions, low pressure and low toughness, we manufacture cold-drawn tubes in two different steel grades (PHC 355 and PHC 460) and delivery conditions (stress-relieved or normalized). We manufacture hot-rolled tubes in three steel grades: E 470, E460 K2 in normalized conditions and E590 K2 in quenched and tempered.

Extreme Working Conditions

We have also developed also a wide range of hot-rolled (E 730 K2) and cold-drawn (PHC 690) tubes for hydraulic cylinders in high-performance steels, able to withstand the highest pressures and extreme working conditions. Our tubes, developed jointly with our customers, are used in specific applications, such as dock cranes, where technical rules and directives require increased mechanical property values (i.e. toughness) and tighter dimensional tolerances.

Components

We supply a wide variety of tubes, flanges and assembled components to the leading earth-moving machinery manufacturers worldwide. For hydraulic cylinder applications, we perform the cutting, bevelling, pre-turning and welding of flanges and other accessories. We can also drill and tap the flange holes in order to have the components ready for assembly at customers’ operating sites around the world, .

Our tubes for hydraulic cylinders are subject to strict qualification processes that test not only their dimensional tolerances but also the quality of the mechanical workings, through welding, mechanical, metallurgical, destructive and non-destructive testing.
