Carrier Tubing for Perforating Gun
One of the most critical applications of Tenaris mechanical tubes in the Oil&Gas sector are carrier tubing used at the heart of perforating guns, the devices that perforate oil and gas wells in preparation for production using explosive charges. These products are a joint development between end users and Tenaris, which specifically designs a product based upon customer’s needs, including tailor-made chemistry and process design.
For this demanding application, Tenaris provides low alloyed, quenched and tempered steel tubes guaranteeing high performances in terms of high yield strength combined with high toughness and tight internal diameter tolerances. They provide also high impact resistance during explosive charges detonation maintaining their structural integrity and the one of the entire perforating system.
