Between November 6th–10th, a representative from the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) office in Bucharest performed an audit at TenarisSilcotub facilities in Călăraşi. The audit program included, alongside with evaluation of the Quality Management System elements (the quality policy, objectives, internal audit, prevention and corrective actions, data analysis, customers claims, system documentation), also the evaluation of conformity with ISO 9001 provisions in the overall activity of the company. The procedures related to scrap collecting and preparing activities were under observance, as well as operations, maintenance, laboratories and employee training.
As a result of the audit, the steel shop will be included within the existing Tenaris multi-site certification, with applicability to the production and sales of continuous cast bars, with round or rectangular section, of carbon steel and low alloy steel, for manufacturing of tubes, sections or other steel products.
“The certification represents the integration of the steel shop in Călăraşi in the Tenaris system and for our clients it represents a confirmation of the fact that the production processes, the maintenance, process control and all the activities are managed and take place according to the best operative practices aiming at assuring product quality,” mentioned Maurizio Rondi, Operations Manager.
