Tenaris inaugurates its TenarisUniversity campus in Brazil

On November 18 Tenaris inaugurated the new TenarisUniversity campus at its mill in Pindamonhangaba, Sao Paulo. The new home to Tenaris’s corporate university in Brazil signified a US$7m investment, including construction and equipment purchases. The total constructed area encompasses 1,900m2, including an auditorium, classrooms, IT rooms, a coffee shop and administrative offices.

Besides this new site in Brazil, TenarisUniversity has campuses in Italy, Mexico and Argentina. TenarisUniversity trains more than 24,000 employees per year, who are located in all the countries where Tenaris is present, giving more than 1,200,000 hours of training. The university has approximately 870 internal and 1,500 external teachers, and uses classroom classes, e-learning courses, webinars and webcasts and on-the-job training.

Paolo Rocca, Tenaris CEO, explained that Tenaris’s goal is to differentiate itself through excellence in training, innovation and development of products and processes. “More and more, training is becoming a key factor in Tenaris in order to have a unique corporate culture and a common identity. Through education, we promote global integration and the alignment of knowledge, processes and the Tenaris values in all countries where we operate. A unique industrial and management system allows us to offer a great variety of development opportunities to our employees, as well to supply our customers with more specialized and innovative products,” he said.

The TenarisUniversity facilities in Brazil offer quality structure and technology for the training of employees around the world, as well as for the company’s suppliers and customer. It also supports the development of the community where it operates, through partnerships with teaching institutions such as, for example, the National Service for Industrial Learning. – Senai.
