Clean, structurally-homogeneous steel ideal for fatigue-resistant applications.
HIGH FATIGUE RESISTANCE
Tenaris supplies a wide range of hot-rolled seamless tubes for transmission parts, such as planetary gears, synchronizer rings, input and gear shafts used in transmission and transfer cases with outer diameters ranging from 48 to 254 mm and wall thickness from 8 to 50 mm.
The steel-making process is critical for these products as strict inclusion and chemical controls are required. During the tube-rolling, cold-drawing and heat treatments, specially-designed processes ensure the products have the mechanical properties and tolerances required for efficient machining. The result is a product with clean, structurally-homogeneous steel, ideal for contact fatigue applications. The homogeneous structure and tightly controlled chemical composition guarantee superior results during subsequent case hardening processes.
