High strength pipe for mooring solutions
Most offshore floating production solutions (FPSO, TLP, SPAR, SEMI) require a reliable method of maintaining their physical position (mooring) in offshore waters during oil and gas production operations. These mooring systems allow the production facility to avoid excessive movement that could affect the reliability of both the structure and riser systems.
Typical FPSO, SEMI and SPAR mooring systems use chains and wires installed in different configurations.
Tenaris offers 24 to 42” OD high-strength steel pipes of up to X80, tailored to meet customer requirements, which can be used as a mooring system for tension leg platforms in order to minimize movement so dry trees and top tension risers can be employed on the platform deck.
Our pipe for this mooring system is suitable for fatigue loads caused by platform movement, as well as collapse loads caused by water depth.
