Tenaris offers different concrete
coating thicknesses and densities according to customer
needs. Our suppliers are qualified to coat pipe with a concrete
density ranging from 2200 Kg/m3 to 3250 Kg/m3
and with a thickness ranging from 1" to 4".
Tenaris offers concrete coating
to the external surface of pipe:
6-18m in length
6-60"
in nominal diameter
up
to 50kg total weight of coated pipe
Weight coating is ideal for situations
where customers face challenging gravity requirements when
installing pipelines in swamps, rivers and offshore.
In addition to its primary
function of adding weight to a pipeline, the concrete coating
protects the pipe and its corrosion coating against harmful
marine organisms, construction damage during transport, handling
and from damage by stingers during laying operations.
Tenaris suppliers also apply
wire mesh as reinforcement, this is a spot-welded mesh of
galvanized low-carbon steel wire designed specificaly to
reinforce concrete coating on pipelines.
The line wires are deeply crimped in the middle between
two cross wires.
Depending on customer specification, Tenaris applies the
following number of layers:
Tenaris Corrosion Inhibitor
Options
For concrete coating
thickness 0 - 70 mm: One layer
For
concrete coating thickness of more than 71 mm: Two layers
The line wires and the cross wires are calculated according
to the specified percentage of reinforcement, the thickness
of the concrete and the number of layers.
