Project Scope

To carry out a metallurgical characterization of Tenaris LP materials. The capabilities of the new Gleeble machine will be used to:

Determine the CCT curves.
Study the hot ductility characteristics.
Simulate thermal cycles of Heat Affected Zones (HAZ).

Expected Outputs

Metallurgical characterization of LP materials based on very special testing techniques which can only be carried out with the Gleeble Machine. Predictions of microstructure and hardness with a relatively simple and quick lab test. This technique will be avialable to customers, once consolidated and subject to restrictions.
