TenarisUniversity also supports steeluniversity.org an award-winning online initiative developed by the International Iron and Steel Institute that provides a comprehensive package of interactive and informative e-learning resources on steel technologies. TenarisUniversity translates the training modules into Spanish, conducts demonstrations of the site for university professors and students and organizes training activities for students based on steeluniversity.org’s interactive steelmaking simulations.
Another effort in collaboration is the Steel Clinic, a three day event held in Argentina that aims to build bridges between the steel industry and academia. Once a year, professors and local governmental authorities are invited to learn from Tenaris industrial managers about developments and breakthroughs in the steel industry. New trends in academia related to engineering are also shared. In addition, participants visit the Tenaris Siderca mill, as well as Tenaris’s Research & Development Center.
TenarisUniversity also supports the Roberto Rocca Education Program. This initiative grants scholarships to talented students for studying engineering and the applied sciences. In addition, it finances fellowships for Ph.D. studies. TenarisUniversity administers a webinar series through which the Roberto Rocca PhD fellows share their research findings with Tenaris employees.
