Environmental commitment, strategic expansion and record results underscores Tenaris 2023 Sustainability Report

Tenaris has released its 2023 Sustainability Report, highlighting the company's steadfast commitment to sustainability and innovation, as well as its financial achievements. As noted by Tenaris Chairman & CEO Paolo Rocca in his opening letter, the report reflects the company's dedication to growth, environmental stewardship, and community engagement.

“As a global supplier of pipes to the energy industry, we have developed a unique position present in the most challenging developments in the oil and gas industry, serving its most important players,” said Rocca in his letter.

Tenaris's robust financial performance in 2023 shows net sales reaching $14.9 billion USD, EBITDA of $4.9 billion USD, and net income of $4.0 billion USD. Strategic acquisitions and investments, such as bringing Mattr’s pipe coating business unit (Shawcor) into Tenaris's operational footprint, enhancing its capacity to serve diverse markets and customer needs.

The company prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of its employees, fostering a culture of workplace safety and professional development. Tenaris health, safety, and environment (HSE) management systems adhere to international standards, with 86% of production sites certified under ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001. Additionally, Tenaris's community education programs aim to enhance education standards and opportunities for students, exemplified by the success of the Roberto Rocca Technical Schools.

Tenaris is committed to reducing its environmental footprint, integrating climate change risks into its governance and business strategy, and aiming to achieve a 30% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030 . Through investments in renewable energy and emission reduction initiatives, including two wind farms in Argentina, Tenaris is advancing towards its goal of carbon neutrality.

The company's commitment to sustainable practices extends throughout its operations, from supply chain management to product innovation. Tenaris's recognition as a Sustainability Champion by worldsteel for six consecutive years underscores its leadership in promoting sustainability within the steel industry.
