Tenaris is a major player in the oil and gas market in Brazil. The company acquired control of Confab, operating in the country since 1943.

The Brazilian mill, located in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo, has an annual production capacity of 550,000 tons of welded pipes. This facility has supplied steel pipes and premium connections for important E&P projects in the country in Campos, Santos and Espírito Santo Basins, for the Pre-Salt development as well as for the comprehensive Brazilian onshore, supporting national and international oil & gas companies on its energy challenges in the region. Tenaris has also supplied large outside diameter pipelines for complex projects around the world, such as:

  • Bolivia-Brazil
  • Camisea and its expansion (Peru)
  • Gasduc III - the largest-diameter pipeline in operation in Brazil
  • Na Kika (Gulf of Mexico)
  • Pre-Salt gas pipelines, including Rota 1, 2 and 3
  • Kaombo (Africa)


Through an integrated products and services package, Tenaris’s solutions are dedicated to exploration, production, transportation and refining of oil and gas, offshore and onshore applications, mining, water and sewage, civil construction and industrial activities.


To assure the excellence and quality of products for the market, Tenaris has invested in its fifth Research and Development Center in the world in the UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) Technological Park, providing innovation and technology worldwide.

The center focuses on the development and qualifications of TenarisHydril premium connections, such as the TenarisHydril BlueDock™ connector, welding technologies, differentiated coatings (such as clad and organic) and areas of study in fracture mechanics and finite elements.


Operating a service center in Rio das Ostras, Rio de Janeiro, Tenaris ensures operations run efficiently no matter how remote or challenging the project. We serve customers in the Campos, Santos and Espírito Santo Basins, Bahia, Alagoas and Rio Grande do Norte states. Providing direct, on-time delivery from our manufacturing center, custom well design, accessories management, tools rental, and 24/7 on-site field service support, we are close to our customers’ needs.
