The World Steel Association picks Tenaris as the industry’s best digital communicator in the opening edition of the award. Paolo Rocca receives the recognition during worldsteel’s annual assembly in Tokyo.
Excellence in digital communications. This is the official name of the new Steelie award launched by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) this year and which Tenaris won from a shortlist of five global steel companies. See those nominated here: https://www.worldsteel.org/about-us/steelie-awards/2018.html
Paolo Rocca received the recognition from Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) during the annual General Assembly of the association in Tokyo on October 16. The companies shortlisted to receive the award included JSW Steel Limited, POSCO, Tata Steel and Ternium.
This is the first year worldsteel presents an award on overall digital communication. The new prize “expands upon and replaces the Website of The Year award to now recognize all digital communications efforts.” The award merits companies’ websites, presence and activity on social media, interactivity, best practice leadership and digital innovation.
Tenaris’s presentation before worldsteel detailed the company’s strategy and tools deployed in its comprehensive digital communications work, from the “One mill, one fan page” approach to Facebook (which has already 14 fan pages) to Twitter communication by company leaders as well as a broad production of videos on industry-related topics and their impact on social media.
