The Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition (LAGCOE) selected Tenaris as one of 2019 New Technology Showcase award winners for the development of TenarisHydril Wedge 624™, formerly known as Wedge 623® RW.
Now in its 64th edition, LAGCOE was established in 1955 to support innovation in the global quest for energy. The conference will take place October 9-11 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
“We are pleased to receive the award. Our focus is to accompany our oil and gas customers in their search to push the limits of innovation, with our commitment to technology and R&D,” says Luca Zanotti, Tenaris President USA. “Our Wedge 624™ has greater resistance to wear required in offshore operations, as such, this premium connection is a fitting solution for our customers operating in the Gulf of Mexico where there is an uptick in activity.”
LAGCOE will dedicate two technical sessions to recognizing forward-thinking solutions in the industry. On Thursday, October 10, Nnamdi Aniekwena, Tenaris Technical Sales Manager - Gulf of Mexico, will deliver a technical presentation on the winning premium connection.
TenarisHydril Wedge 624™ is an improved version of the Wedge 623® connection designed for improved casing wear performance in deepwater and HP/HT applications. It offers exceptional torque capability and compression efficiency due to the simultaneous engagement of opposing flanks of the dovetail thread, and is compliant with the API RP 5C5 CAL-IV testing protocol taking into consideration physical testing on both worn and non-worn casing.
