Students and university teachers made a virtual foray into the industrial world of Tenaris through a series of technical webinars organized by the company’s team in Romania.
In February and March, more than 400 students and teachers from technical universities in Romania had the opportunity to interact with specialists from Tenaris, in health and safety, quality, planning, steel making and hot rolling process technology and continuous improvement, to learn how to effectively apply theories learned in school in an industrial environment like Tenaris.
The online project, which included six webinars, was carefully designed by Tenaris human resources and process experts, taking into consideration a range of topics of interest for students and teachers.
Tenaris experts showed the students how steelmaking works, what technologies are used in pipes manufacturing, applying high standards in health, safety, and quality. In addition, company instructors discussed with students how Tenaris challenges the status quo through innovation, data science applications and continuous process and product improvement.
“The technical webinars were a meeting place for people who share a common passion for engineering and industry in general - our colleagues at Tenaris who responded positively to the invitation to create and deliver content and the students who were able to express all their curiosities,” says Carmen Avramescu, Human Resources Senior Director for Tenaris in Romania.
