Tenaris’s commitment to decarbonization
Tenaris has a long-term commitment to responsible, sustainable operations. In February 2021, the company announced its decarbonization strategy to reduce CO₂ emissions by 30 percent by 2030.
In the Chairman’s Letter of the 2021 Sustainability Report, Paolo Rocca, Tenaris Chairman and CEO, highlighted one of the most important projects under the radar for 2022: “Our Board approved a $190 USD million investment project to build a wind farm in Argentina, which will supply close to 50% of the electric energy requirements of our Siderca integrated seamless pipe facilities. This is an important initiative to enhance the sustainability of our operations and secure a source of energy supply in the country.” He also mentioned, "We are preparing for the energy transition through developing materials and products for low-carbon energy applications."
