Tenaris increases capacity, streamlines supply chain with new service center in Angola

Service Center in Soyo Tenaris

Tenaris’s new pipe service center in Soyo, in the Northern province of Zaire in Angola, is now operational, providing logistic and operational support and expert services to customers in the region.

“Angola is a promising market for Tenaris in the region. Our investment in the Soyo service center allows us to increase our capacity to provide high-end products and related services with shorter response times, better supporting our customers and the increase in oil and gas production in the country,” said Tenaris Commercial Senior Director Juan Juanicotena.

The new Soyo service center spans 16,000 square meters, has a storage capacity of 5,000 tons of tubulars and a warehouse for the indoor storage of pipe accessories.  It will soon offer new services such as a Dopeless® technology self-contained unit for the on-site application of the dope free solution, which eliminates the need for running or storage compounds. The new investment also brings growth to the local workforce, in support of Angola’s local content regulations, and the transfer of technology in the country.

Angolan Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, visiting Tenaris's booth Tenaris

Tenaris highlighted the new pipe service center at the Angola Oil & Gas exhibit, held September 13-14 in Luanda, where commercial and technical representatives connected with customers to discuss the company’s wide range of products and sustainability strategy.  Paolo Novelli, Technical sales regional director, participated in a panel on going beyond compliance and in executing strategies to make a difference in energy companies. He gave an overview of Tenaris’s sustainability values, main pillars, and initiatives, and stressed the importance of strong collaboration between international companies, regulatory authorities, local communities, and local companies, in order to establish an effective sustainability model.

Tenaris received visits at its booth from the Angolan Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, as well as from the first secretary of the Italian Embassy and the head of the commercial section of the Argentinean Embassy in Luanda.
