The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) announced the election of Guillermo “Willy” Moreno, President, USA at Tenaris to its Board of Directors on June 2, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
AISI serves as the voice of the U.S. steel industry in the public policy arena and works to position steel as the material of choice in the marketplace. AISI's membership includes both integrated and electric arc furnace steel producers, as well as associate members from companies that supply or work with the steel industry.
“I’m honored to join the AISI Board and eager to work alongside the other member companies to safeguard and strengthen the US industry,” said Willy Moreno. “We have always believed in the promise of American manufacturing, and over the past 17 years, we’ve made major investments in the U.S. to deliver safe, high-quality, and sustainable steel products and services. Our engagement with AISI will help drive continued innovation and competitiveness in the sector.”
Tenaris joined AISI in 2018 alongside the ramp-up of the company’s first greenfield project in the United States: a cutting-edge seamless pipe mill in Bay City, Texas, inaugurated in 2017. Since entering the U.S. market in 2006, Tenaris has invested over $11 billion USD.
