Tenaris celebrates 50 years of the Roberto Rocca Scholarship, serving communities across the world. Tenaris
In 2026, our Roberto Rocca Scholarship program celebrates 50 years. This program supports high school and university students who stand out for their academic performance and commitment to their studies. It is run by Tenaris and its sister companies in the Techint Group, and it has awarded more than 45,000 scholarships in 23 countries. Its goal is to help young people that live in the communities where these companies operate continue their education.
A look at the Roberto Rocca Education Programs
The scholarships are one of four Roberto Rocca Education Programs. Together, these programs cover the full school cycle, from elementary school to university. Tenaris, Ternium, Techint Engineering & Construction, and Tecpetrol, all part of the Techint Group, design, run and fund them.
Roberto Rocca Technical Schools offer high school technical education using project-based learning and modern labs. The first school opened in Campana, Argentina, in 2013.
Roberto Rocca Technical Gene supports technical schools with equipment, training for students and teachers, and internships.
Roberto Rocca After School develops STEM and social-emotional skills in children aged 6 to 15.
Roberto Rocca Scholarships reward academic merit at the high school and university levels. Selection also includes a socioeconomic evaluation to support equal opportunities and social mobility.
Education is at the center of Tenaris's community relations strategy. In 2025, 84% of the company's community relations investment went to education programs.

How the scholarships began
Roberto Rocca, one of the founders of the Techint Group, launched the scholarship program in Argentina in 1976. He believed education was the main driver of individual and social progress. In 2022, the program was renamed the Roberto Rocca Scholarships to honor his legacy.
"My father Roberto was convinced that education is a fundamental factor in people's development, in social mobility, in creating opportunities and growing. He passed those beliefs on to the entire Techint Group, and today they are our core values," said Paolo Rocca, Tenaris Chairman and President of the Techint Group, at an award ceremony in Campana, Argentina.
"Education should not be seen as a privilege; studying is a right, but it is also a duty, and an extraordinary opportunity," he added, "because it allows the community to grow through the constant self-improvement of all its members."
Focused on expanding opportunities across socioeconomic backgrounds, the Roberto Rocca Scholarships support high school and university students in pursuing their educational goals. Tenaris
50 years of Roberto Rocca Scholarships in numbers
Of the more than 45,000 scholarships awarded, 36,000 went to high school students and over 9,200 to university students.
Technical education and equal opportunity
The program has a strong technical focus and a global outlook. It aims to strengthen education, especially technical education, develop talent and open opportunities for young people from challenging backgrounds. University scholarships are mainly for students of engineering and applied sciences.
It has also made progress on diversity. Women received 47% of high school scholarships, despite female participation in technical education remaining low worldwide.
