To continue strengthening Roberto Rocca’s legacy and values, June 10 was established as Roberto Rocca Education Day for the companies of Techint Group. The goal of this special date is to reflect on the current educational context, while sharing innovative practices and trends for the design of new teaching methods.
Innovation at the service of inclusion. Tenaris brought to life a hydroponic greenhouse built by final year students in Argentina that participate in its Technical Gene educational program. The greenhouse is now fully operational with young people with disabilities, managed by NGO Casa Esperanza, on staff to help with the facility’s activities.
It was 13 years ago that Dustin Broglin attended a job fair at the University of Missouri-Rolla, his alma mater.
“They were new to the area in 2009. I heard good things about Tenaris investing into a facility in rural northeast Arkansas,” says Broglin, engineering and maintenance senior manager at Tenaris’s mill in Hickman, AR. “That excitement was something I wanted to be a part of. It was also important for me to start my career close to home, where I have a support system.”
Iulia Botos, Tenaris IT applications senior analyst in Romania, is not afraid of stepping up to new challenges. She graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Romania: “I should be able to share with you technical and marketing knowledge about vineyards and greenhouses,” she says jokingly. But, in 2018, she returned to her hometown of Zalau, where she was offered the opportunity of joining Tenaris as a Global Trainee, in a facility, Silcotub, where, coincidentally, her father worked for almost three decades. “Growing up here and having a father who worked for the company for so long helped me understand that Tenaris is a big player. However, after joining, I realized that it is way bigger and more exciting than anything I had in my mind,” she says.
Within Tenaris’s industrial system is the Piombino operational site in Italy, a facility that provides civil and industrial solutions and services to customers in Europe and North African markets. Over the years, the operational site has expanded its scope of services, offering specialized solutions to respond effectively to customer needs. Roberto Noseda, director of Piombino site, shares insights about the facility, highlighting the key component of its growth.
Tenaris has awarded 57 high school students across the United States scholarships totaling $303,000. Tenaris’s community focus centers around education, having established programs and scholarships in the communities where it operates to extend and advance learning opportunities.
