PipeTracer^®

PipeTracer^® is available as a free download on Android and Apple IOS App Stores.

Review the Tenaris PipeTracer^® User Manual listed below in the "Getting Started" section. 

1. (Preventive): Make sure all tools are being charged ahead of performing the tally.

2. Call 1-877-TENARIS and select the option for PipeTracer^® assistance if a scanning tool is urgently needed.

A key aspect of the PipeTracer^® digital tally is redundancy options for pipe identification. The first option to identify a pipe is scanning the 2D tag on the box end protector of the pipe. Serviceable 2D tags should scan with the PipeTracer^® app camera, the Zebra DS3678-DP scanner, or the image scanner on the TSL 1153-US-BT-UHF-IMG scanner.

Alternatives:

• Scan the Datamatrix ring on the pipe body with the Zebra DS3678-DP (green & black scanner.)
• Scan the RFID tag on the box end protector with the RFID scanner on the TSL 1153-US-BT-UHF-IMG (yellow & black scanner.)
• Manually enter the pipe 12-digit URC (Unique Reference Code) located longitudinally on the pipe body stencil (select “Manual” in Change Device option).
• Measure the length with a tape measure and record the length manually (also uses “Manual” in Change Device option).

1.- Turn off and on Bluetooth setting on smartphone/tablet and try again.

2.- Remove scanning device from smartphone/tablet Bluetooth device list and refer to PipeTracer^® User manual for step-by-step instructions for connecting the device.

Verify “Sync. with cloud” is set to “Enabled” in PipeTracer^® app settings, accessed by clicking the gear at the top of the app.

1. Free up space on the memory of the smart device.

2. Disconnect smartphone/tablet from the internet by disabling WIFI or go in PipeTracer app settings and set “Sync. with cloud” to “Disabled”. However, make sure to re-connect to the internet when scanning is completed before sending any tally.

1. Access the saved tally on the smartphone/tablet under “Archived Tallies” in the PipeTracer app and re-attempt to send via email.

2. Connect cable for data transfer to work-station (only for android)

The PipeTracer^® app will be auto-updated or the user will be prompted with a message about the need to update the app. This update should be completed in the same manner that other smartphone/tablet apps are updated through Android and Apple IOS App Stores.
