Tenaris executive highlights potential of Argentina’s natural resources, company’s unique solutions at AOG 2022

Tenaris is exhibiting at the Argentina Oil & Gas 2022 Expo, held on March 20-23 in Buenos Aires. Through a digital experience, the booth features the latest solutions and projects developed by Tenaris, and sister companies, Tecpetrol and Techint Engineering & Construction.

The booth’s main themes include energy transition and the synergies between the three companies in milestone projects such as Fortín de Piedra, the unconventional gas field, operated by Tecpetrol; and in new projects such as the wind farm that will be built by Tenaris.

Projects such as Tecpetrol’s Fortín de Piedra or YPF-Chevron’s Loma Campana have proven that our energy resources can be leveraged, and that they are competitive and abundant. Tenaris representatives are on hand to share information about its comprehensive line of products and services, including TenarisHydril Wedge 463®, specifically designed for production casing in unconventional wells, and its range of sucker rods, developed to withstand the toughest demands in mature conventional wells and non-conventional wells; or its digital tools for customer integration.

Another highlight of Tenaris’s booth is its continued commitment to the development of Vaca Muerta, the most important shale reservoir in Argentina and the second-largest gas reservoir in the world. “The potential of Vaca Muerta is immense. Argentina has historic oil heritage and with this development we can generate exports, employment, and leverage our know-how to advance the energy industry,” said Martínez Álvarez.

In line with the Tenaris´s commitment to reducing its CO2 emissions intensity per ton of steel by 30% by 2030, Martínez Álvarez also mentioned the investment of $190 million USD for the development of a wind farm that will supply approximately 50% of Tenaris’s electricity requirements for its mill in Campana. “This project shows that developing alternative sources of energy can open up new opportunities for everybody,” said Martínez Álvarez.
