Ecuadorian oil services company Shaya, part of the SLB Group, has increased its selection of Rig Direct® services to include RunReady™ as part of the companies’ short-term agreement renewal, which will extend until 2024. The RunReady™ service will streamline operations at the Auca field, located in the Ecuadorian Amazon and operated along with Petroecuador.
With RunReady™, pipes are prepared at the Tenaris service center in Machachi and delivered ready to be run in the well, increasing efficiency and reducing operational risks. By using PipeTracer®, a unique pipe identification solution that offers access to product information via mobile devices, Shaya can simplify digital tallies at their rig site.
“The additional services provided by Tenaris are very positive. The data from PipeTracer® matched the information from the inspection company and we didn’t have to apply storage compound on the pipes that were left. These things simplify on-site operations,” wrote Roberto Salinas, Shaya company man in Ecuador, in his feedback report.
His colleague, Wilfredo Narváez, added, “PipeTracer® is an innovative tool that allows us to make more precise measurements and saves a lot of time.”
The Rig Direct® service contract also includes rig returns, a service in which customers only pay for the pipes they use. In addition, Tenaris provided field service for enhanced well integrity.
“With the adoption of the RunReady™ service delivered from the Machachi service center, Tenaris is strengthening its partnership with major oil and gas operators in Ecuador,” said Tenaris Managing Director in Ecuador, Gustavo Martínez.
