Tenaris’s first threading facility in the UAE showcased at ADIPEC 2023

Tenaris will feature its growing industrial footprint in the UAE along with its latest technological solutions at ADIPEC 2023 that will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, October 2-5.

Hosted by ADNOC, the convention will bring together industry leaders, innovators, and the public sector to tackle the biggest challenges in energy and climate. Under the theme “Decarbonizing. Faster. Together.” the event will offer conferences about energy security, mobilizing finance and investment, and the development of a zero-carbon value chain.

In line with its long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality, Tenaris has been applying decades of expertise in tubular products metallurgy and premium connections to come up with new technological solutions for the energy transition. Its vast experience in R&D, corrosion resistance, premium connections and value-added services, position Tenaris as the partner of choice for hydrogen storage and transportation, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) and geothermal energy.

At booth #7130, Tenaris representatives will be sharing information about the company’s product portfolio for the next generation of energy and about its new 200,000 sqm industrial complex in Abu Dhabi. Tenaris’s industrial campus will be the first local OCTG threading facility of its scale in the UAE that can cater to ADNOC’s premium technology demand.

In 2017, ADNOC became the pioneer in the Middle East to adopt Rig Direct®, a proven mill-to-rig service model that maximizes operations while streamlining costs and reducing environmental footprint from start to finish.

“Our journey with ADNOC has been a remarkable one,” says Juan Faranda, Tenaris managing director in Abu Dhabi. “Our industrial set up will improve the security of supply for ADNOC and our Rig Direct® model is reducing their stocks considerably. Additionally, this project is allowing us to create value in-country through employment, through working with local SMEs and through hiring and training Emirati talent who are interested in growing in the private sector", concluded Faranda.

Tenaris has invested more than $60 million in establishing a sustainable, local industrial presence, backing the UAE’s industrialization goals. The new industrial complex also includes a TenarisUniversity training center to offer technical workshops for ADNOC and provide the company’s growing local team with development opportunities.
