Tenaris will unveil TenarisShawcor White Jacket™, its latest coating solution for severe onshore and underground pipeline applications, at the Hydrogen and Carbon Capture Technology World Expo in Hamburg, Germany, from October 21–23.
TenarisShawcor White Jacket™ is a single source, multipass line pipe coating system designed specifically to meet the challenges of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and rocky soil intallation zones.
“This installation method requires a coating capable of withstanding extreme mechanical stress while ensuring long-term protection,” explains Sandro Giannelli, Tenaris Technical Sales Senior Manager Coating. “To deliver an optimized and reliable solution, we developed a new polyethylene–polypropylene coating that combines the anticorrosion and thermal resistance of 3LPE coatings with the superior mechanical strength of polypropylene, ensuring durable protection during installation and long-term operation.”
Developed at TenarisShawcor’s coating facility in Villamarzana, Italy, this advanced coating system is also suitable for hydrogen and carbon capture transportation pipelines, offering enhanced resistance to material embrittlement while maintaining the mechanical protection required for the most demanding applications.
