Tenaris has inaugurated a new service center located in Barrancabermeja, Santander, strengthening its service footprint in the region and expanding its ability to support oil and gas operators in Colombia.
The Barrancabermeja service center covers an area of 35,000 square meters and has a storage capacity of approximately 6,000 tons for pipe and sucker rods. The facility also features administrative areas designed to support collaboration and operational efficiency, an OCTG inspection line, and an accessories warehouse. Strategically located along the Vía Nacional highway, the center offers improved accessibility and efficient logistics for the more than 20 fields across the Middle Magdalena Valley, the Arauca–Caño Limón area, and the Putumayo Basin.
Representatives from Ecopetrol, Sierracol, Gran Tierra, Mansarovar and Petrosantander attended the site’s launch, alongside Tenaris regional executives and representatives from the local government.
During the inauguration ceremony, Álvaro Saavedra, Procurement Manager at Ecopetrol, noted the new service center will help operators improve efficiency, supporting collaboration across the industry and contributing to the region’s development.
“This investment speaks through actions, builds trust, and sends a clear message that Santander is a serious, competitive territory ready for industrial growth,” said Andreína Serrano Silva, an adviser in the office of Santander Governor Juvenal Díaz Mateus.
“This service center marks a new chapter for Tenaris in the region,” highlighted Duilio Pesce, president of Tenaris for the Andean region. “The new yard reflects how our focus on customer service and safety comes together to generate a positive impact in the community, while strengthening our supply chain and enabling us to deliver high-quality service for many years to come.”
