Tenaris supports construction of vocational workshop in Indonesia

As a part of its community relations programs in Indonesia, Tenaris has supported Al-Jabar vocational school in Batam, Indonesia, with the construction of a workshop for students specializing in automotive engineering.

“The new workshop was fully adapted to the needs and context of the local vocational education agenda. It seeks to support the empowerment of young learners who aspire to work in the automotive industry,” said Al-Jabar Headmaster, Deden Sirozuddin.

The new space equipped with tools set, work tables, and grinders will be used by students to expand their knowledge about cars and motorbikes mechanics. Tenaris donated USD $10,000 to build it.

As part of its educational commitment, Tenaris granted last year 264 high-school students in the cities of Cilegon and Batam the Merit Award scholarship for a total of $52,500 USD. In addition, 29 students from three different universities in Indonesia received Roberto Rocca Education Program (RREP) scholarships for $25,000 USD in total to help advance their graduate degrees.

These same Merit Awards and RREP recognitions are going to be awarded to a new group of students during the last quarter of this year.
