The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) has announced that TenarisBayCity and Tenaris’s North American President Germán Curá have joined the association as a company and board member, respectively. Alan Kestenbaum, Executive Chairman and CEO of Stelco, was also named to the AISI board.
AISI serves as the voice of the North American steel industry in the public policy arena and advances the case for steel in the marketplace as the preferred material of choice. AISI also plays a lead role in the development and application of new steels and steelmaking technology. AISI is comprised of 20 member companies, including integrated and electric furnace steelmakers, and approximately 120 associate members who are suppliers to or customers of the steel industry.
“As Chairman of AISI, I am pleased to welcome TenarisBayCity as AISI’s newest member company, as well as Alan Kestenbaum and Germán Curá as the Institute’s newest board members,” said John Ferriola, AISI chairman and chairman, president and CEO of Nucor Steel. “We look forward to working together to tackle the critical issues facing the North American steel industry.”
Tenaris’s Tamsa seamless manufacturing facility in Veracruz is also a member of AISI and is represented by Guillermo Vogel – Vice President of Finance and Vice Chairman of Tamsa, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the AISI Board of Directors.
