TenarisGPC has officially inaugurated a new production line at its longitudinal submerged arc-welding (LSAW) pipe mill in Jubail 1 Industrial City, Saudi Arabia. This revamping doubles the facility’s production capacity and is set to foster new employment and training opportunities for the local community.
This expansion follows a strategic rebranding process from Global Pipe Company to TenarisGPC earlier this year, ensuring that the facility operates at the same global standards as Tenaris and contributing to a unified approach to excellence.
“This is a significant milestone in our journey to become a pipe export hub for complex projects worldwide. With the largest manufacturing capacity of steel pipe in the Kingdom, the new mill will contribute to strengthening our longstanding partnership with our customers. We are committed to fostering a skilled technical workforce, as we align with Saudi Arabia's energy goals and empower the next generation of talent,” said Renwar Berzinji, Tenaris President for operations in Saudi Arabia.
Over the next year, TenarisGPC will work closely with top local universities and aims to deliver approximately 15,000 hours of training. The focus will be on hiring Saudi talent for the new job opportunities that will be created, offering practical training and valuable experiences for young professionals.
TenarisGPC’s expanded LSAW facility capacity complements TenarisSaudiSteelPipes’s ERW production center in Dammam and Tenaris Saudi Arabia’s premium OCTG threading capacities, making Tenaris the only supplier in the Kingdom capable of covering the comprehensive needs of Saudi Aramco with the largest footprint in the local steel pipes industry.
