A survey by international business and finance magazine Forbes has recognized Tenaris for its community support in Argentina during the pandemic. The Argentinean edition of the magazine conducted a survey of various companies in the country that have contributed to help communities address the health and economic problems resulting from the global coronavirus pandemic. The Techint Group, which includes Tenaris, took first place among private companies in this effort.
The article was published in the philanthropic special edition of Forbes Argentina, which seeks to reflect how the pandemic mobilized joint actions.
Tenaris contributed to different projects such as the construction of an emergency hospital close to its mill in Campana, Argentina, in association with the Hospital Austral and other private supporters; a donation of more than 50,000 facial shields made at the mill and thousands of kits of biosecurity equipment, plus more than 20 ventilators for different medical centers; and the transformation of the Hotel Siderca into a treatment center for COVID-19.
The article, published in Spanish, highlights that “The Techint Group took advantage of its global purchasing capabilities to provide ventilators, beds and infusion pumps, among other essential elements, for intensive and intermediate care units, as well as more than 270,000 pieces of personal protection equipment for doctors and nurses at 15 hospitals.”
