Humanitas supports Tenaris in health and wellbeing plan

As Tenaris builds on its culture of health and wellbeing in an industrial world, the company is partnering with Humanitas,  an internationally renowned School of Medicine with a highly specialized teaching and research hospital that is also part of the Techint Group. Humanitas will lend its expertise in the medical field, offering guidance on health-related initiatives for Tenaris employees.

“Health is a key element of wellbeing,” explains Dr. Elio Riboli, Professor of Public Health at Humanitas University, in Italy, and medical advisor of the project. “The goal is to support employees, by giving them solid and updated health information, while offering periodic medical checkups.”

Under its partnership with Tenaris, Humanitas aims to raise awareness, and encourage proactive health promotion actions among Tenaris employees on the many factors that can contribute to one’s physical health and wellbeing, from the importance of undergoing traditional preventative checkups to assessing lifestyle and behaviors that can improve overall health, in mind and body.

“Our employees drive our success, and as a company we want to make sure we are offering our team a wide scope of resources, beyond the traditional health benefits, to lend greater support and contribute to their overall health."

Dr. Elio Riboli has conducted extensive research on the causes and risk factors of cancer and other chronic diseases. The research he has led have translated into scientific publications that have contributed to better understand the role of behavioral, dietary, and nutritional risk factors in preventing some of the most common chronic diseases occurring in middle age and later in life.

Humanitas has world-class clinicians, biologists and medical researchers across more than 50 clinical domains grouped in specialized centers for the treatment of cancers, cardiovascular diseases, neurological and orthopedic disorders, among others.

“Our employees drive our success, and as a company we want to make sure we are offering our team a wide scope of resources, beyond the traditional health benefits, to lend greater support and contribute to their overall health. Through this partnership and with the help from experts at Humanitas, we will continue advancing our vision of better wellbeing,” says Tenaris Chief Human Resources Officer, Luis Scartascini.
