Rio Pipeline 2025, held on September 9-11 in Rio de Janeiro, provided the setting for Tenaris to announce its participation in the Búzios 11 project, reinforcing the company’s role as a key supplier to Brazil’s offshore developments.
Tenaris has secured the supply of seamless line pipe for risers and flowlines, along with TenarisShawcor coatings for thermal insulation. “This projects highlights our ongoing commitment to the development of the Pre-Salt,” said Renato Catallini, Tenaris President in Brazil, during the Rio Pipeline cocktail party sponsored by Tenaris.
This will be the eleventh module of the Búzios field, located 180 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in the Santos Basin, at a water depth of 2,100 meters. This phase foresees the construction of 15 wells connected to a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. The collection system will rely exclusively on rigid lines (risers and flowlines) for production and injection.
The contract includes the supply of 18,000 tons (115 km) of seamless pipes to be produced at Dalmine, Tenaris’s manufacturing center in Italy. In addition, 112 km of pipes will be insulated with TenarisShawcor Marine 5-Layer Syntactic and Marine 5-Layer Solid coatings, to be applied at Confab, Tenaris’s mill in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil.
The project will be supplied under the One Line® service model, which integrates project management to streamline processes and ensure adaptability to changes throughout the project’s duration.
