Tenaris will present a comprehensive suite of solutions aimed at a safer red zone, at Rio Oil & Gas 2022, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 26-29, leveraging decades of experience supporting rig operations with product and service innovations.
With multiple people working in a small space surrounded by heavy equipment, the red zone on the offshore drill floor has always been considered a high-risk area that poses big safety challenges, industry-wide. In response to this need, Tenaris has developed a package of technologies and services that, together, substantially reduce manual operations in the red zone, improving the overall safety and efficiency of rig operations:
Pipes are lifted with the use of slings that secure the pipe body at both ends, with no need to use lift eyes
- The digital PipeTracer® application creates digital tallies and measurements, enhancing safety through less pipe handling, improving accuracy, and simplifying operations. It also allows operators to access technical specifications and running guidelines.
- Using Dopeless® technology, a field-proven coating system automatically applied at Tenaris´s mills around the world, pipes are supplied RunReady™ and thus no running compounds have to be applied at the rig, resulting in less handling of the pipe on-site, while also improving running reliability.
- The Automatic Anti-Rotational Keys (AARK) in TenarisHydril BlueDock® weld-on connectors allow for multiple automatic and hands-free activation without the need to use special tools, resulting in safer, faster operations.
The combination of these solutions, plus Tenaris’s on-site field services support to ensure well integrity throughout the operations, offers customers the opportunity to operate with a safer red zone with simplified operations and minimal manual intervention.
