Petrobras has awarded Tenaris a contract to supply conductor and surface casing for the Pre-Salt and the Equatorial Margin in offshore Brazil. The agreement, secured through a global tender, covers the period from 2027 to 2029.
The contract includes TenarisHydril BlueDock® weld-on connectors equipped with Automatic Anti-Rotational Keys (AARK), that enable automatic, hands-free activation without the need for special tools, enhancing operational efficiency and safety. Tubulars meet the rigorous technical demands of Brazil’s offshore market, where fatigue resistance and high collapse strength are critical.
Delivered under the Rig Direct® service model, the contract encompasses solutions such as preparation for offshore, inspection and repairs, transportation, rig returns, and on-site support by Tenaris Field Services specialists, along with the use of the PipeTracer® identification system - a unique technology that ensures end-to-end traceability of each pipe’s technical properties. PipeTracer® enables the creation of digital tallies, reducing pipe handling, enhancing accuracy, and simplifying operations.
“We are delivering a robust solution for conductor and surface casing in the Pre-Salt and Equatorial Margin. By reducing manual interventions in the rig’s red zone, we are enhancing operational safety and efficiency for offshore operations in Brazil,” said Renato Catallini, President of Tenaris in Brazil.
